About Kate Creates

You may be wondering… why the celery and the radish? ✨

I launched Kate Creates on January 1st, 2026 with a desire to find a creative outlet and with the image of some vegetables sitting in a glass stuck in my mind. Specifically, a radish and a stalk of celery.

The inspiration came straight from my dad’s fridge.

One afternoon, we were chatting when he opened the fridge to grab a snack: a stalk of celery and a radish. As he stood there munching on them, I couldn’t help but smile at the simplicity of the moment. Something about it felt warm, familiar, and oddly meaningful.

That tiny moment turned into an idea.

The image stayed with me, so I decided to draw it - just to hold onto the feeling it gave me.

Later, I found out that my dad’s mother used to make him that same snack, and now my other dad does too, continuing the tradition years later. Learning the story behind it made the moment feel even more special. It reminded me how much love, memory, and connection can live inside the smallest things.

That feeling ultimately became the foundation of Kate Creates.

Because sometimes the smallest things - a favorite snack, a flower, a little object sitting in a fridge, can make someone feel seen, known, & loved. 💜

And that’s what I hope Kate Creates can be: a small way of sharing connection, meaning, and little moments of joy with others.
