What is a micro portrait?
A micro portrait is a 2"x3" hand-drawn illustration. I use colored pencils on high quality mixed media or watercolor paper.
These are sketches of a favorite thing - an object, place, or memory chosen for the meaning it holds for you or a loved one.
What can I request?
You can request pretty much anything! An object, landmark, symbol, a memory, I am open to all ideas!
At this time I am not offering portraits of people, but I do offer micro pet portraits!
What will the style & detail look like?
I will do my very best to capture the vision you share with me! Please keep in mind that micro portraits are intentionally small and simple. They're clear, thoughtful sketches meant to capture feeling rather than realism.
How long will it take?
Creation time for each portrait, from start to finish usually takes me 4-5 hours depending on how intricate the item, idea, or pet is. If you have a deadline you are trying to meet, please let me know and I will do my best to accommodate your timeline!
How do I place an order?
Please go to my commission request form and fill that out, from there I will reach out with any questions, otherwise I will begin working and you will receive a confirmation once your micro portrait is finished!

What are the shipping options?
Every order is thoughtfully packaged with care!
Items will be shipped via USPS. Delivery time will vary based on turn around time to complete artwork plus shipping times. Please reach out at katecreatesartwork.com if you need expedited shipping options. Additional fees may apply.
How much does shipping cost?
For standard USPS shipping:

Do you ship internationally?
At this time I am unable to ship internationally. I apologize for the inconvenience.
Lost, damaged, or stolen packages
Every order is carefully packaged with love to help ensure it arrives safely. Once your package has been handed off to the shipping carrier, Kate Creates is not responsible for packages that are lost, damaged, or stolen during transit or after delivery.
If your package arrives damaged or is lost in transit, please contact the shipping carrier directly to file a claim. If you have any questions or need assistance locating your tracking information, feel free to reach out. I'm always happy to help where I can!
REFUNDS & EXCHANGE
Do you accept refunds or exchanges?
Because these pieces of artwork are custom & hand-drawn, all sales are final. Thank you for your understanding!
OTHER
Payment
Payment is due at the time of ordering. Because each piece is custom-made, I am unable to begin working on your portrait until payment is received.
Accepted payment methods are through my website or directly through Venmo.
Revisions
Additional changes may not be possible due to the nature of the work.
Gifts
Micro portraits make perfect gifts!
They are thoughtful and do not take up a lot of space. Perfect for someone you love or something special just for you! If you would like to purchase a portrait for someone but aren't sure what they would like, or you would like to let them decide, gift cards are available!
Framing
All micro portraits and pet micro portraits will come framed with a mat. Prints will not come framed unless specified and with an additional charge.
